Metro Star is an apartment-and-shophouse complex on a 1.83 ha site (18,337.5 m2) at 360 Vo Nguyen Giap (Hanoi Highway) in Phuoc Long Ward, Ho Chi Minh City - the area known as Phuoc Long A Ward, District 9 and later Thu Duc City before the administrative reorganisation.

The scheme comprises two 30-storey towers over two basement levels, laid out as three-pointed stars, delivering 1,468 one- to three-bedroom apartments and 76 podium shophouses (some press reports cite around 1,500 apartments).

Its most distinctive feature is the pedestrian bridge planned to run directly from Level 2 of the retail podium into Binh Thai station - Station 10 on Metro Line 1, Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien.

The metro line is already in commercial operation, but the bridge itself was still unfinished as of mid-2026 with no announced completion date, so it should be understood as a future amenity rather than an existing one.

This is also a project whose legal history and construction record deserve a clear-eyed look. Metro Star came to market in 2018 with a commitment to hand over in 2021, but slipped by several years because of procedural obstacles after the Investment Law changed in 2020.

In April 2024 the Thu Duc City People's Committee approved an adjustment to the investment policy and approved the investor, clearing the way for the construction permit to be updated.

Reports from June 2026 describe the site running three shifts around the clock, concentrating on the superstructure and the fit-out of the apartment tower floors to keep pace with Metro Line 1, with recent launch phases showing a positive shift in absorption.

No new official handover date has been announced - buyers should insist that it is written into the contract, together with a penalty clause for late handover.

On pricing. The reference range in circulation for the current phase is 85 - 100 million VND per m2 (updated 1 August 2026), which works out at roughly 4.4 billion VND for the smallest 52 m2 unit.

The figure of 2.5 billion VND per unit that is still repeated on aggregator sites belongs to the first launch of 2018 - 2019 and no longer reflects the current inventory.

In the other direction, secondary-market observations from April 2024 put the range at 40 - 68 million VND per m2, with some transactions below 40 million VND per m2 - a gap that comes mainly from contracts signed in the earlier phase.

No official shophouse price list has been released by the developer; the figures circulating through brokerage platforms should be re-confirmed against the developer's own price list before any deposit.

The developer. The developer is Cong ty Co phan Dau tu Metro Star (Metro Star Investment Joint Stock Company), a member of C.T Group, a diversified conglomerate founded in Ho Chi Minh City in 1992.

The architecture is by AXIS Architects (Singapore), and the project won the award for the best-designed mixed-use development in Vietnam 2022 at the Dot Property Vietnam Awards.

The developer states that it has inherited and is fully honouring its legal obligations to customers who signed contracts earlier; during 2023 the company wrote to buyers offering a buy-back option and interest compensation for those who had been waiting a long time.

Who is it for? The project suits young families, technology professionals and commuters working at the Saigon Hi-Tech Park, Thu Thiem or central District 1 who would rather travel by metro than by private vehicle; investors letting units along the Metro Line 1 corridor; and shophouse investors betting on passenger flows at Binh Thai station together with a retail podium that is being filled with retail, F&B and co-working brands.

Conversely, anyone who needs to move in within a short timeframe, or who cannot accept schedule risk, should weigh the decision carefully and inspect actual construction progress on site.
